UFC 89 Live Blog – Miller vs Baron

Miller comes out to a jaunty country-folk number (it’s Credence Clearwater Revival according to the journo sat next to me). Baron looks ripped but only cut a grand total of two and a half pounds for this fight, which most people I have spoken to over the last few days think is insane.

The American is handily outgrappling the Frenchman, showing beautiful transitions and generally making his life difficult. They flip and flop around the Octagon in an entertaining fashion for a while, but Miller slows things down and resumes his grappling class, bloodying him up and going for submission after submission.

Miller might be winning this fight and watching one man wrestle another is starting to bore both me and the crowd. Good thing Miller put and end to it by locking the night’s second rear naked choke at 3.19 into the third.
